With the start of the cladding works and the construction of the free-standing scaffold, access to all four entrance lobbies and both communal bin rooms is being carefully managed to minimise inconvenience, but maintain security.
Waste Collection – Trelawney House
Waste and recycling should continue to be left in the Trelawney House communal bin room as usual. Bins will be collected from the lower end of Trinity Street, by the roundabout.
Waste Collection – Piran Place
Waste and recycling should continue to be left in the Piran Place communal bin room as usual. The day before collection, all wheelie bins will be moved by our contractors into the shopping centre loading bay for collection the next morning. Bins will then be returned to the bin room. This means tenants might find it best to avoid taking waste down the evening before regular collection as there will be no wheelie bins in the communal bin room.
Edit: We understand the frustration of having to walk out and around the scaffold area to reach the bin rooms, but there is simply no alternative. It had been suggested that bins be placed under the scaffold, but this would constitute a fire-hazard so unfortunately wouldn’t be possible. However all routes out of both buildings and into both bin rooms remain level and fully accessible.
Mail, Couriers, and Supermarket Deliveries
Residential deliveries are a little more tricky and we’re working with our Classic Builders to find the best way to manage this with minimum inconvenience for both tenants and delivery drivers.
At the moment we’re looking at a designated space for residential deliveries at the lower end of Trinity Street, by the roundabout for Trelawney House, and at the (suspended) bus stop outside the cinema for Piran Place.
Once the scaffold construction begins, we are looking at a couple of different options to allow delivery drivers and couriers to access all lobbies under the scaffold. The easiest option being a simple code-lock at all access points into scaffold covered walkways – a code that tenants will be able share with couriers when ordering items for delivery. This code would also be shared with our regular couriers from Royal Mail, Evri, Yodel, etc.
We feel this would maintain security under the scaffold without too much complication.
All of this is subject to review as it is difficult to predict exactly how everything will work in practice; we appreciate everyone’s patience as we try to find the best way forward for us all.
