Just a quick update as it seems there have been some very odd rumours flying around social media in the past couple of days.
We are still awaiting permission to place some of the scaffold on land owned by the shopping centre (including the stairs at either end of Piran Place) but we’re hopeful these licence negotiations will conclude in the coming days.
In the meantime, our principle contractors and subcontractors have been working hard to re-sequence the works so that other parts of the scaffold construction may continue.
As you all know, this is a highly complex ‘free-standing’ scaffold that has been carefully designed over the past two years. It is ten metres wide, eight storeys high and will stretch alongside the entire length of both buildings (over a hundred metres). Therefore any changes to the order/sequence of its construction are extremely complex.
However, we’re pleased to report that scaffold construction will now be able to continue this week, and we would like to thank both Classic Builders and Chris Sedgeman Scaffolding for their considerable efforts in making this happen.
All other works have continued in the meantime and we’re grateful to all residents that have responded quickly to the information request we sent out last week.
